What’s In A Name?

Or Getting My Name Back…

Be yourself; Everyone else is already taken.

— Oscar Wilde.

I signed a deal with The Montana Club Guys, a licensing agreement, for the use of my name and recipes at a Take out and Delivery store on W. Broadway. We ran it together for several years, when they got an offer from a different food company to lease the building. We were ready to to let it go but the guy wanted to do pizza at night and started using the Zimorino’s name in addition to the name of his own business.

I should have stopped it from the start but didn’t. My mistake. He changed all of the food, and in the process ran the business, my name and my food reputation into the toilet. I was considering legal action to remove my name from his operation but really didn’t need the stress. That being said, I couldn’t go out anywhere without someone telling me just how terrible that business is. It even happened at a party I was hosting last weekend by an attendee to the party.

I feel like I am being verbally assaulted for having a crappy restaurant. It is most certainly not the reputation that I developed in my restaurant years.

I figured it would only be a matter of time before the reality of running a restaurant would catch up with him, and it did. He is done and gone. My name will be off of the sign hopefully within the next week and I locked him out of my website which is now right here.

Please understand that I haven’t been involved in that business for the last 4 years, derived no financial gain for that time and had no say in any of its’ operations.

Also Bob, Nick and Adam from the Montana Club have always been very fair to me and we remain friends.

I have no desire to go back into the food business at this point in my life but I am still a food guy. I will be using this page to show some food, some recipes, photos, music, humor and travels. It will include links to videos and hopefully be a lot of fun.
